Phenominal book. Tina's life is fascinating, heartbreaking and inspirational. Her drive and determination has stayed true through trials and aching tribulation and the incredible Shiloh Shepherd is her legacy. I count myself lucky to have one of these amazing creatures grace my life, and can attest that Tina's struggle was not in vain.

This book is a must read for anyone thinking of owning a Shiloh Shepherd or for the dog lover. The book really shows the author’s love, dedication and commitment to the breed. It was really hard to put down. From the first page to the last it holds your interest and takes you on an emotional journey of the trials and tribulations that the author has endured. Great book.

Just finished reading "the book" and posted the following on the Amazon Book Review website. gobe, March 16, 2006 Reviewer: Denis P. Gobeille "gobe" (St. Charles, MO) Just finished reading "The Shiloh Shepherd Story" and found it very interesting. I have had several German Shepherd Dogs in my life and fell in love with the 'real' Shilohs that Tina Barber and her band of dedicated ISSR breeders have developed. I, too, loved the "old fashioned" German Shepherd and was becoming progressively disappointed in the direction they were going here in the States over the decades. My last one had to be 'put down' because of a severe case of hip dysplasia and it broke my heart. Then I ran across the Shiloh Shepherd on the internet and traced it back to Tina Barber. I was fortunate enough to acquire a 'real' Shiloh Shepherd from one of the legitimate breeders and after having read this book, have a much better appreciation for the tremendous amount of work and dedication in developing this breed. It's a 'must read' for anyone considering a GSD type of dog in their lives. You ought to read the book before you make any decision to buy a dog like this. The only down-side will be the wait involved with getting the right dog into your home and life!

I believe that truely every dog lover should read this book. I was one of the lucky ones to be able to read a few chapters before publication when one looks at any dog it is absolutely mind boggling to think of how a breed comes to be! This was and continues to be an amazing journey for Tina Barber and her undaunted strength to continue this vision and dream.I am axiously awaiting for my copy and i know anyone who reads this special book will be moved at the uphill journey such and undertaking requires, but when you look at a shiloh shepherd you know how worth the juorney is! What a WONDERFUL book! To finally have in print THE story about Shilohs is a treat. Tina, you did a good job telling your story. The book itself is done very well and I am very proud of everyone who had a hand in this. Job well done!

I am looking foward to reading this book, having read Tina's testimony about 5 years ago and her story of her foundation four http://www.shilohshepherds.info/The%20Fabulous%20Four.pdf How concise a vision even then. I always wish her well and thank her for the information that was shared with me after we had earned eachother's trust! May you write many more books Tina!

I wanted to say what a pleasure the past 15 months have been. Working on the Book with Tina, Karen and Patrick has been a highlight of my life, really. It was much harder and more time consuming than I believed it would be, and I really did very little. When I seen the Promo Copies of the Trade Paperback Edition. Then The Limited Edition, and realized the quality, I was overwhelmed. I could not have been happier. We received some help from a couple of Angels with the cover, and what a blessing they were. The cover makes the book. From an investors point, we need to sell some books. After seeing the initial response and the quality, I am not concerned. We will sell these books, I garauntee it ! ! Thank you to everyone whom has been involved. Willie Lass Shiloh Enterprises

I am so glad this book is finally being released. Tina has teased me by letting me read a few chapters ahead of publishing. I'm just dying to get my hands on the whole thing and read it cover to cover. The ISSR Shiloh Shepherd has been a long hard road in the making. Tina Barber has accomplished so much in making this breed. Thank you Tina for writing it all down to share with us. You are truly a remarkable woman!

This is an amazing true story about an amazing woman who created a breed of dog that will some day be a household name like the German Shepherd dog is a household name.

"Against the Wind--A Breed is Born" is an excellent subtitle to this book. Tina has long fought the establishment, not willing to just accept things as they are, but dreaming, rather, of the way they could be. While others are content to settle for the ordinary and the easy path, she is not. Hence, she determined to re-create the dogs she remembered from her youth; with the help of her Savior, she has overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles along her path. By the end of this book, you will be cheering for this formidable woman and the breed she has developed. For those seeking to know the truth about these dogs and their founder, may I suggest visiting the Shiloh Shepherd Community Forums.
